Meet our other parents and get involved

At Saint Mary's Hospital, we are keen to ensure that we provide the best possible service to families whilst your baby is being cared for on the NICU.   The Newborn Intensive Care Parent Forum provides an opportunity for parents whose babies have been discharged from the unit to meet with our staff and discuss your experience of our service in an informal setting.

We are keen to hear your feedback, to identify areas of good practice and also to identify areas where we could do better.  The forum also gives us an opportunity to present and discuss new ideas with parents prior to implementation.

What does the group do?

The group's main focus is Family Centred Care.  To date, members of the group have been involved in developing a Unit Philosophy, introducing Parent Care Plans and the opening of the parents' sitting room.

The group usually meets once every three months in the evenings (usually at 7.00 pm) at Saint Mary's Hospital.  Group members are kept informed of dates and activities, etc, via e-mail.
