Jo Marks Jo Marks, Speech and Language Therapist

Our Speech and Language Therapist (SALT), Jo Marks, is a key member of the multi-disciplinary neonatal team.  She has a unique role in the assessing and helping to manage infant feeding and swallowing.

Jo's knowledge of feeding development and early communication skills in babies enables her to provide pre-feeding intervention programmes with the aim of:

  • Reducing the potential development of aversive feeding behaviour.
  • Promoting oral feeding readiness.
  • Maximising the potential for successful oral feeding.

An integral part of Jo's role is to support and provide education to the multi-disciplinary team regarding optimal feeding practices and to provide input into the management of infants with complex feeding and swallowing problems.
