Appliances & Orthotics
The Appliance department provides a service to healthcare
professionals, local primary care trusts and general
practitioners.
An appliance is worn bodily and includes wigs, collars, spinal
supports, footwear, insoles, wrist splints etc.
Making an appointment
Patients are referred to the department via a number of
routes:
- Prescription by a Consultant, usually as part of their
orthopaedic treatment
- Self-referral for repair
- Directly from the General Practitioner
If you require a replacement please speak to the department on
0161 746 2303 as you may require a new referral from your GP.

Stretford Memorial Hospitals operating on an appointment-only

each clinic.
