Audiology (Adults)
The Adult Audiology department has a team of audiologists
and support staff who are all based at Trafford General Hospital.
Satellite clinics are run regularly at Altrincham Hospital and
Chapel Road Clinic.
Making an appointment
The adult audiology service accepts referrals from GPs,
ENT surgeons, or other health professionals. Any existing NHS
hearing-aid wearer can also self-refer for reassessment to the
Audiology service.
Clinics
Our clinics are run at:
- Trafford General Hospital, Davyhulme
- Altrincham Hospital, Altrincham
- Chapel Road Clinic, Sale
All clinics are by appointment only, so please check
before attending. A home visit service for the housebound is
provided at the discretion of the patient's GP.
Hearing-aid batteries are available to collect in person
from Trafford General Hospital, Altrincham Hospital, Chapel Road
Clinic and Partington Health Centre. You can also have them posted
to you from Trafford General Hospital; please enclose a
SAE.
Hearing-aid repair clinics
Patients can attend hearing-aid repair clinics at Trafford
General, Altrincham Hospital and Chapel Road Clinic. All repair
clinics are by appointment only.
Audiologists offer retubes, ear-mould impressions and
fittings, and general hearing aid checks. Appointments will be
offered between 9am-4pm and can be booked using the contact details
below.

Admission:
Existing NHS hearing-aid users can self-refer to the service.
All new patients must be referred to the service by their GP or
other healthcare professionals.
Hours:
Working hours are 8.00am until 6.00pm, Monday to
Friday.
Clinics are by appointment only or as otherwise
instructed.

Conditions:
All aspects of Audiology are dealt with, ranging from
paediatric hearing problems to patients suffering with balance
problems and tinnitus.
