Along with our main academic partner The University of Manchester, we are one of 12 Biomedical Research Centres in the country, created by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Biomedical Research Centres are outstanding centres of research excellence and leaders in turning university science into hospital care. Our NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre is specialist in genetics and developmental medicine.
We are also proud to be a founding partner of the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre, set up to help develop our city region as a world leader in healthcare research. Working together, we are rapidly making Manchester a lead centre in cutting-edge research for patient benefit.
