Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

CFS/ME Service for Children and Young People

About the Children and Young People's CFS/ME Service

Our multi-disciplinary team offers advice, support, and individual treatment programmes for children and young people diagnosed with CFS/ME. It also has a crucial role in coordinating the many services involved in caring for you and your family. You may be involved with Alex Woore (Co-ordinating Clinician), but you may also meet with Dr Abeles, Dr Kannan, Kim Peak or Lisa Taylor along the way.

Using our service

If you are under 16 and have unexplained chronic fatigue, you can be referred to us by a consultant paediatrician or a senior professional in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team. Referrals for 16 and 17 year-olds are discussed with us to agree the most appropriate service for you; in some cases this may be an adult service. The team currently treats children/young people from throughout the Greater Manchester region and as the service develops, we hope to offer our service further afield within the North West.
