The Department of Paediatric Urology provides a specialist service for the diagnosis and management of children with simple and complex urological disorders. This service is provided for children with the following disorders:

  • Hypospadias
  • Posterior urethral valves
  • Stone disease
  • Intersex abnormalities
  • Neuropathic bladder
  • Bladder exstrophy and epispadias
  • Cloacal exstrophy
  • Cloacal anomalies
  • Urological oncology
  • Antenatally diagnosed uropathies
  • Urinary incontinence

The department receives referrals from throughout the North West. It is designated as one of the two centres specialising in the management of children with epispadias and bladder exstrophy.

The department has an international reputation for clinical excellence and has pioneered minimally invasive techniques in paediatric urology.
