Chris McLoughlin

Chris initially worked as a nurse in Manchester Royal Infirmary in the 1980s and subsequently became a social workerbased in a community team in central Manchester.  She held a number of key  leadership roles in Manchester City Council in Children and Family Services (1992-2009).

She joined Stockport Metropolitan Borough  Council in 2009  as Director for Social Care and Health and since October  2012 has been  the  Director  for Safeguarding and Prevention,  responsible for the multiagency  Safeguarding Children's Unit and all  Integrated Children's Services including Social Care, Health, Youth Offending , Drug and Alcohol services for young people, parent support   and Early Intervention teams

She is also currently Chair of Greater Manchester Teaching Partnership and represents the GM Directors  of Children's Services on the GM Mental Health Executive & also the GM  Justice & Rehabilitation Executive.
