Nic Gower

nic gowerNic is currently, a Non-Executive Director of Furness Building Society (since 2014) and the Seashell Trust (since 2007) - he chairs the Audit Committee of both organisations - and he is a Board nominated Governor of the Royal School Manchester. Seashell is a Stockport based charity supporting young people with severe communication difficulties including providing highly specialist education and residential care. He is also (since 2016) a member of the audit committee of Progress Housing Group.

The majority of Nic's professional career as a Chartered Accountant, twenty-three years, was spent as a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP specialising in audit and assurance, during which time, alongside providing professional services to his clients, he undertook leadership roles in quality, risk management and change management. After graduating from Manchester University he trained with Spicer & Pegler (now merged with Deloitte) prior to joining Coopers and Lybrand a predecessor firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
